Where you can eat well and cheaply in Bolzano

When you stand in front of the narrow “Wirtshaus Vogele” in the old town of Bolzano, not far from the fruit market and the Laubengasse, it is hard to understand at first that one of the most popular restaurants in all of South Tyrol is supposed to be hidden within these walls. A look into the old inn in the basement shows old carvings, but there are such queues of guests passing through the guest rooms. . . What’s going on here? What do you have in “Vögele” that others don’t have?
