Selfie hunters are back on the Lido. Last night, they were waiting for Catherine Deneuve, who came to receive a Golden Lion for her entire career.

But the two stars of the evening were of course Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig, the heroes of White Noisethe opening film of this 79th Mostra. White Noise plunges two professors into the heart of an ecological disaster, the explosion of a train stuffed with toxic substances.

In his twelfth film, Noah Baumbach explores the consequences of the disaster, which of course recalls the Covid epidemic: fatigue, depression, anxiety and paranoia, all of which gradually lead to the dereliction of the couple.
