New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) has suspended the supply of Kovacs through UN agencies. The vaccine is manufactured by the Indian company Bharat Biotech. The WHO said the decision was not about the effectiveness or safety of the vaccine.

WHO Bharat Biotech has been asked to rectify the deficiencies found in the test and increase the facilities. The WHO also advised the countries that purchased the vaccine to take the necessary action. But what these proposals are has not been released.

The temporary ban on exports will disrupt the supply of covaxin. The company said it was reducing vaccine production to comply with WHO guidelines. From March 14–22, the WHO inspected the company’s production facility. The directive has been issued following this. Bharat Biotech said in a statement that the certificates of those who received the vaccine would remain in place and the procedure would not jeopardize safety or effectiveness.
