The human ear is a fragile organ that can be affected by several diseases throughout life. The most common, such as ear infections, are treated with antibiotics. On the other hand, certain more complex pathologies cannot be cured. Presbycusis, more commonly called hearing loss, is part of the natural cycle of life. This hearing degeneration primarily attacks high-pitched sounds, before affecting speech frequencies and can, in some cases, cause complete deafness.
