Why do Indian students go to study medicine in Ukraine?

New Delhi: Many Indian students are studying medicine in Ukraine, including Tamil Nadu. Most of them are from Haryana and Punjab.

The MBBS course offered in Ukraine is accredited by various countries around the world, including the Medical Council of India, the World Health Council, Europe and the United Kingdom. Further the cost of study is less. Thus many Indian students go to Ukraine to study medicine.

Dr. Ashwani Kumar from Jalandhar, Punjab said, “It costs 10-12 lakh rupees a year to study MBBS in a private college in India. It will cost a total of Rs 50 lakh in four and a half years. MBBS in Ukraine costs only 4 – 5 lakh rupees per year to study. This is three times less than the cost of private colleges in Punjab, ”he said.
