Negotiations between Health Insurance and private doctors were derailed in the final stretch. Launched in November, they have been suspended since the beginning of April, amid disagreement over the government’s health strategy. Behind the scenes, however, discussions are going well, a sign that neither the executive nor the practitioners have any interest in letting the situation deteriorate.

“The government massacred the negotiations,” laments Franck Devulder, president of the CSMF union, while insisting that “we must resume” the dialogue. “Avenir Spé remains mobilized to conclude an agreement favorable to specialists,” declared the main specialists’ union a few days ago. Negotiations (so-called conventional) should make it possible to redefine the rules of the game between Social Security and community doctors, particularly remuneration.
