Yesterday, Azerbaijan was planning to publish an interview or a documentary film about the persons illegally detained in Azerbaijan, which was canceled or at least not in the same form. Artsakh HRD Gegham Stepanyan announced the discussion on “Armenia’s Border Security Challenges”.
He mentioned that they still do not know what was the reason why the Azerbaijani TV channel did not publish the given film.
“Probably, there will be clarifications, but it is very important to observe that, unfortunately, the Armenian public is giving in to Azerbaijani propaganda tricks,” he said.
According to Stepanyan, it is necessary to educate the public, increase immunity and show the purpose of what is being done so that they do not fall into the trap set by Azerbaijan.
Siranush Sahakyan, a specialist in international law and human rights defender, added that Azerbaijan formed clear expectations among the Armenian society that they would watch scandalous and very important interviews, but in the end they sold or exchanged those expectations and emotions.
“We had a 17-second video that was more geared towards their 100th anniversary of the NSS. On the other hand, an official clarification was given today that the problem is not only to have an interview, but to broadcast it at the right time, that is, they are not rejecting the screening of the expected video, but they are just questioning the chosen moment.
