Widespread vehicle inspection in the state; 2.40 lakh rupees were fined from 264 vehicles

Thiruvananthapuram – Major irregularities were found in the vehicle inspection conducted by the Motor Vehicle Department across the state. The inspection mainly focused on school buses. Other vehicles were also checked. A fine of Rs 2,39,750 was collected from 264 vehicles found to be irregular.

A fine of Rs 83,500 was imposed on 167 vehicles that did not keep first aid. A fine of Rs 1,56,000 was collected from 78 vehicles that were found to be non-compliant with road safety, vehicles without smoke inspection certificate and vehicles causing noise pollution.

A fine of Rs 250 was collected from the taxi drivers who drove the vehicle without wearing uniform. 18 vehicle owners who ran in violation of the permit and wrong route were released after gathering information and giving a warning.
