MADISON, Dec. 19, 2025 – Two Wisconsin Badgers volleyball freshmen, Anya warren and Addy Horner, announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal on Thursday, signaling potential shifts for the program following a successful 2025 season. The decision comes just one day after the team’s final four run ended with a loss to Kentucky.

Fresh Faces Seeking New Opportunities

The pair, both highly-ranked recruits, expressed gratitude for their time with the badgers but are seeking opportunities for increased playing time.

  • anya Warren, a highly-touted libero in her recruiting class, appeared in 50 sets this season.
  • addy Horner, ranked as the No. 1 setter in her class, saw action in 71 sets, frequently enough filling in for an injured teammate.
  • The transfer portal window remains open until Jan. 5, allowing both players time to evaluate their options.
  • both players expressed gratitude for their time at Wisconsin and the support they received from the coaching staff and fans.

Horner shared a post from a transfer portal account on Instagram and added to her story that she is “beyond grateful” for her experience with the Badgers. Warren, in her own Instagram post, stated she is entering the portal to “explore new opportunities and continue my growth.”

“I want to start by sincerely thanking Wisconsin for welcoming me with open arms and so much love,” Warren wrote. “A huge shoutout to the incredible coaching staff, my amazing teammates and the splendid city of Madison for all the support and kindness I’ve received. This experience has meant the world to me.”

while both Warren and Horner saw playing time during the 2025 season, they where positioned behind more experienced underclassmen.
