The legislative package “On Amendments and Additions to the Law on Narcotics and Psychotropic (Psychoactive) Substances” and “On Amendments to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses” authored by the government was discussed at the special session of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on March 27.

RA First Deputy Health Minister Lena Nanushyan reminded at the committee meeting that on February 1 of this year, the discussion of the package of draft laws at the meeting of the standing committee was postponed for up to two months. During that time, no written proposals were submitted by the deputies.

The oral proposal of Tsovinar Vardanyan, a member of the commission, referred to setting the licensing term for two years instead of one. The deputy voiced the recommendation. The main speaker stated that it will become a subject of discussion in the near future.

The commission gave a positive conclusion to the legislative package.
