A choice, that of TCL in terms of prices, which Ferraro defines as the desire to “democratize” technology.
“Let’s take foldable phones – he says – they are interesting, very beautiful and we as a group are also strongly involved in the sector because we produce displays. But this is not democratization, it is business, the search for new market niches. Democratization is when you, in 2020, make a 5G product for 299 euros, with all the difficulties involved in selling this product, because a 5G phone has a higher price than the equivalent 4G “.
Then, looking at the general situation linked to the pandemic, Ferraro adds, “the numbers for 2020 put it in writing: there has been a surge in computers, printers and routers. The phone has remained stable, but the need for connection is objective. I applaud the PNRR – he adds, commenting on the technological push desired by the government in the document – but up to now in Italy, in truth, the digital divide has never been addressed well. There are areas where it is impossible to carry the fiber. Hybrid solutions have to be found, it would be that simple“, adds Ferraro.
Latest phone presented by Tcl is the
Pro 20 5G, a device that is placed in the mid-range but that has characteristics of a higher-end smartphone. In addition to 5G connectivity, the model relies heavily on the quality of the display and that of the cameras. “The latter – Ferraro remembers – have Sony sensors with optical stabilization. In the distraction of commerce, we forget about the detail. We have made a beautiful product, which despite being positioned on a low-end, demonstrates that we know how to make phones where quality is the word key”.
The strong point is, in fact, the display: an Amoled curved 6.67 inch, with technology Nxtvision 2.0 Intelligent Display, powered by Pixelworks. The proprietary technology of the second generation TCL provides image accuracy and visual enhancement Ai is able to recognize different content and scenarios, automatically adjusting color, contrast and sharpness for more accurate calibration. Tcl 20Pro 5G also supports playback Hdr10 for streaming TV series, documentaries and movies on Netflix. As the company recalls in the product sheet, the independent Dxomark laboratory tested TCL 20Pro 5G and “awarded it with a display rating of 89, positioning it among the best mobile devices, on a par with other smartphones with a decidedly higher price “.
As for the photographic sector, iThe device is equipped with four rear cameras, complete with Sony Imx main sensor, including an ultra-wide, a macro and a depth lens. Finally, an HDR-enabled front camera from 32Mp completes the photographic sector. As for the duration, according to TCL, the new smartphone provides more than a full day of battery and is equipped with fast charging technology, as well as wireless. It is also equipped with an internal storage of 256 gigabytes and a micro SD capacity of up to 1 terabyte.
