Member of the House of Representatives, Rabia Aburas, confirmed that the Libyan delegation participating in the General Assembly meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva had withdrawn from the hall immediately after the start of the speech of the Zionist entity delegation.
Aburas explained in press statements that “the Libyan delegation, in coordination with the Arab and Islamic countries, participated in a preparatory meeting headed by the Algerian delegation, where it was agreed to support the Palestinian proposal in the emergency clause, and the Libyan delegation voted in favor of this proposal and rejected the rest of the proposals.”
Aburas stressed that “all the Arab and Islamic countries withdrew from the hall while the Zionist entity presented its proposal in the voting session, and only the countries supporting the entity and some countries claiming neutrality remained.”
She stressed that “this measure came as an affirmation of Libya’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and rejecting all forms of aggression.”
Aburas expressed her pride in the position of the members of the Libyan House of Representatives who were on the front lines defending Gaza and the Palestinian people, stressing that “the House of Representatives will continue to support the Palestinian cause by all available means.”
At the conclusion of her statements, Aburas announced “the House of Representatives’ intention to submit a complaint to the Attorney General against Abdul Salam Al-Rajhi, accusing him of falsifying facts and inciting public opinion against the Libyan delegation.”
