A few days after the departure of Shufersal chairman Yaki and Damani, the company announced today (Wednesday) the splitting of the Operations and Supply Chain Division and two new appointments. Retail Operations Yiftach Bloch, former director of the company’s supply chain, has been appointed VP of the supply chain.
According to Shufersal, “the move is made in light of the enormous scope of activity in each of these areas, which requires maximum professionalism and managerial attention.”
Shufersal operates without a controlling shareholder and is mainly held by institutional entities in the capital market. It will be recalled that last January, the chain’s CEO, Itzik Aberkhan, surprisingly announced his departure, after about a decade in office, and in his place it was decided to appoint Ofer Bloch, who currently serves as the CEO of the Israel Electric Corporation, as CEO.
Aberkhan ended his position as CEO of the group at the end of March, and until Ofer Bloch took over as CEO of Shufersal, the company’s board of directors recently decided to appoint Nir Metosevich, deputy CEO and director of trade and marketing, and David Laron, deputy CEO and director. Operations and supply chain, for the group’s co-CEOs – and they are now responsible for the new appointments of Eran Sela and Yiftach Bloch.

Since 2015, Eran Sela has served as Shufersal’s VP of Retail and Deputy Operations and Supply Chain. Sela has held various management positions at Shufersal since 1998. Among other things, he managed the neighborhood chains and served as Shufersal Express format manager, Shufersal Big format manager and more.
As part of his role, Sela managed the operations of Shufersal chain branches, Shufersal online operations, quality assurance, safety and security. He holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Tel Aviv University.

Yiftach Bloch has been the director of the supply chain division at Shufersal since 2019. In the past, he served as VP of operations at Nilit, served in various management positions at the Tnuva dairy complex, served as director of Alon Tavor Dairy and more.
As part of his new role at Shufersal, he will manage the supply chain, logistics and distribution centers. He holds an MBA in Business Administration from Ramat Gan College and a BSc in Food Engineering from the Technion in Haifa.
