A 36-year-old man is in police custody following the discovery of his partner’s body at their home on Thursday,December 25,a police source confirmed.
The victim, a 34-year-old woman from Belgium, was found at midday in a working-class neighborhood of Lille. Investigators observed signs of violence in the apartment and bruising on the victim’s body,according to the source.
The suspect, a 36-year-old Algerian national, reportedly called for help and stated that an argument arose during an evening of drinking. He is known to authorities for a previous traffic offense and is currently facing legal issues in France. He has been taken into custody.
