Women’s 3000m Running Parul Choudhary National Record

New Delhi: Indian athlete Parul Chaudhary, who participated in the Sound Running Athletics Championship series in Los Angeles, USA, set a new national record. Chaudhary, who was behind in the 5th place in the final race, ran tremendously in the last 2 rounds to finish 3rd and get the bronze medal. He clocked 8 minutes, 57.19 seconds, setting a new national record.

Earlier, Parul broke the record set by Suriya Loganathan (9:04.5) in Delhi in 2016. She also became the first Indian to reach the finish line in the women’s 3000m race in less than 9 minutes. Next, Parul will participate in the women’s 3000m steeplechase category of the World Championships to be held in Oregon, USA later this month.
