Omaha Women’s Basketball to Host Bakersfield and Lindenwood in Baxter Arena Debut

Omaha Women’s Basketball is set to inaugurate its games in the newly-renovated Baxter Arena with a pair of contests: a Thursday, November 20th matchup against CSU Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. CT, and a Saturday, November 22nd game against Lindenwood at 1 p.m. CT. These games mark an exciting new chapter for the program as they welcome fans to their updated home court.

Mavericks Prepare for Road Runners Rematch

The Omaha Mavericks (1-4) hold a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series against the CSU Bakersfield Road Runners (0-4). Their most recent encounter saw Omaha secure an 87-79 victory over Bakersfield. During that contest, then-freshman Cora Olsen, now a junior, contributed four points, four rebounds, and one steal in nine minutes of play. This prior success will undoubtedly fuel the Mavericks as they aim to extend their lead in the series.

First Meeting Since 2023 Against Lindenwood

Omaha will face Lindenwood University (3-1) for only the second time in program history. Last season, the Mavericks defeated the Lions 73-66 in St. Charles, Missouri. This limited history adds an element of intrigue to Saturday’s game, as both teams will be looking to establish a stronger foothold in the rivalry.

Community Engagement and Game Day Promotions

Thursday’s game will feature a Toys for Tots donation drive, encouraging attendees to contribute unopened toys for distribution during the holiday season. The first 250 fans arriving at the game will also receive a complimentary magnet schedule. These initiatives demonstrate the team’s commitment to community involvement and enhancing the fan experience.

How to Follow the Action

Both games will be available for streaming on the Summit League Network. Fans can also tune in to listen to the play-by-play commentary from Brent Weber on 1180 AM in Omaha, Nebraska, or via the Varsity Network. Tickets for both games are currently available for purchase at OMavs.com/Tickets or by calling 402-554-MAVS.
