Rainbow wahine Golf Slides to Eighth at Pan Pacific University Golf Super League

The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team experienced a challenging second round at the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League, falling to eighth place overall on Thursday at the Grand Fields Country Club in Mishima City, Japan. A team score of 304 brought their 36-hole total to 588, a decline from their previous position.
Tournament leaders Emerge
Nihon university currently leads the competition with a remarkable 3-under 565.Close behind are UCLA (566), Meiji University (567), Fukui University of Technology (569), and Tohoku Fukushi University (570) rounding out the top five. SMU sits in seventh place with a score of 586.
kraus Leads Hawai’i Contingent
Raspberry Kraus delivered the strongest performance for the Rainbow Wahine on Thursday, carding a 2-over 73. This effort places her in a tie for 12th place with a tournament total of even par 142. Emiko Sverduk followed with a 4-over 75, securing a tie for 22nd place at 4-over 146. Wendy Song recorded a second consecutive round of 76, resulting in a tie for 45th place at 10-over 152.
achanta struggles, Firouzi Rounds Out Team
A tough day for Varnika S. achanta, who shot a 3-under 68 on Wednesday, saw her post an 85 on Thursday, dropping her to a tie for 48th place at 11-over 153. Sofina Firouzi completes the UH lineup in 62nd place with a total score of 165.
The individual competition is tight at the top, with UCLA’s Maye Huang sharing the lead alongside Nihon’s nagi Kuramochi and Meiji’s Shio Chaki. All three golfers are at 5-under 137 after huang’s notable 5-under 66 on Thursday.
The Pan Pacific University Golf Super League will conclude on Friday with the final round of play. the tournament began Wednesday, October 25th, and will end Friday, October 27th. Nihon University currently holds a narrow lead over UCLA, with Maye Huang of UCLA, Nagi Kuramochi of Nihon, and Shio Chaki of Meiji tied for the individual lead. Hawai’i’s Kraus is the highest-ranked Rainbow Wahine golfer, tied for 12th. the tournament’s final round will determine the team and individual champions.
