Time.news – Government and trade unions find an agreement on the issues of job safety. “It was a very useful meeting to establish a working method” says President Mario Draghi. The leaders of CGIL, CISL and UIL agree. Maurizio Landini, the most critical so far for the purely informative meetings of decisions already made, is satisfied, not only because important and shared decisions were taken at the meeting, but because the executive said it was available for new meetings already in the next days.
The unions will return to Palazzo Chigi to talk about Pnrr and to make a “preventive confrontation” on various points that will address the budget law, from the tax reform to that of pensions and shock absorbers.
Today the interventions of immediate feasibility in the field of safety and health protection in the workplace have been identified: the revision and strengthening of the training system for employees and entrepreneurs; the revision and strengthening of the sanctioning rules to be applied following inspections; the rationalization of the structure of inspection responsibilities; the establishment of a single database of the sanctions applied.
Luigi Sbarra, secretary general of the CISL, speaks of a great national strategy to counter the emergency of accidents and deaths at work, an unacceptable trail of blood. Bombardieri underlines the importance of the database of accidents at work, but also of the possibility of suspension of the activity for the company that violates the safety regulations. “Important answers” for the union also on speeding up the recruitment of inspectors, to enhance checks and controls.
At the table there was no talk of the minimum wage or of other issues that are close to the heart of the CGIL, CISL and UIL. But also according to the Minister of Labor Andrea Orlando, “it was a particularly useful, fruitful and concrete meeting” also relevant in the method.
