The agreement provides that an employee working remotely in another member state will be able to retain social insurance in the member state where his employer has a registered office or place of business, if cross-border remote work in the state of residence is less than 50 percent. full working time.

It is expected that the administrative burden of the competent bodies will be reduced, as the issuance of work certificates for teleworkers will be simplified.

The agreement applies only if both Member States concerned have signed such an agreement.
