In the women’s singles quarterfinals, defending champions PV Sindhu of India and Sean Taipei’s Tai Yu Ying clashed.
PV Sindhu lost the first set 17-21 and the second set 13-21. In the end, the Chinese Taipei player advanced to the semifinals, defeating Sindh 21-17, 21-13.
In the men’s singles, former number one Srikanth of India advanced to the semi-finals after beating the Netherlands 21-8, 21-7.
