La Plata, Argentina – November 26, 2025 – Banfield soccer coach Pedro Troglio is among 160 people scammed in a real estate investment gone wrong, initiating legal action against those involved. The scheme, centered around an unfinished apartment complex, has left many facing significant financial hardship.
The investment,which began in 2024,promised monthly rental income and eventual ownership of apartments,but quickly unraveled,leaving investors with little recourse.
Troglio detailed how Diego Lacki, of the company Abes Business Developer, initially presented a compelling investment opportunity at social gatherings in La Plata. “Here in La Plata it is indeed customary to get together well-known people at barbecues and this character from the Abes company appeared, who is Diego Lacki. He starts talking, you like him and he’s good,” Troglio explained. he and a family member invested, receiving monthly payments until “everything stopped.”
“They don’t answer me,they never answered me again and we started with legal actions,which is the only thing I have left,” Troglio said. he described Lacki as initially approachable but than unresponsive when issues arose.”Lacki doesn’t attend to you. He was very nice, to put it on the nightstand. And suddenly he doesn’t attend to you anymore. He is at home, in La plata, but without a solution.”
The company, while constructing four buildings together, allegedly began hiring for projects they knew wouldn’t be completed. “They were also building a very well-known hotel. Each one invested what they could,” Troglio added.Investors are now being offered a meager 20% return on their initial investment – a proposition Troglio deems “miserable.”
Legal Action and Growing Anger
Troglio and his wife have filed a criminal complaint against Lacki and macarena Núñez, the project administrators. “It is very hard. It is very sad to see each person’s situation. It made me angry because he received the money in cash. And now where is the money?” he stated.
Troglio revealed he transferred funds to a U.S. account belonging to the individual in question while in Honduras, possessing the receipts as evidence. “My indignation is that I never expected it. it’s not that the company has had a bad past,” he continued, expressing his shock at the betrayal.
While Troglio feels he can weather the financial blow, he expressed deep concern for others who invested their life savings.”In my case I have the peace of mind that I can continue living, but in the meetings I have seen people who brought their only savings and that is what kills you. There are people who are waiting out of desperation.”
