In March, it was reported that Xiaomi plans to launch three new phones with a first-generation Snapdragon chip. It has also been reported that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be launched in the second quarter of 2022, which will likely be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus chip. According to new reports, Xiaomi is planning to launch the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus chipset.
The first-generation Snapdragon 8 chip is built with Samsung’s 4nm technology, which was previously available on the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro phones. The Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus chip is also manufactured by Taiwan’s TSMC, which appears to be known with the model number SM8475. This chip is also made with 4nm technology. This chip is said to be an overclocked model of the first generation Snapdragon 8 chip.
The Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus chip is expected to be presented in May or late May. It is said that the first phones with this chip will be launched in June. Motorola, Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Samsung are among the brands that use the first-generation Snapdragon 8 chip.
The Xiaomi 12S is known by the code name Diting and model number 2206123SC. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12S Pro is being built under the Unicom codename and model number 2206122SC. Unfortunately, the rumors have not released more information about the hardware specifications of the Xiaomi 12S series.
It is worth noting that Xiaomi is also working on the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G phone. This phone is a mid-range product of the Xiaomi 12 series. The phone is likely to come with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. According to rumors in the phone, a Snapdragon 778G chip has been used. This phone will be available in models with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB and 256 GB of internal memory.
It was also revealed that this smartphone will be available with Android 12 and MIUI 13 user interface. It uses a 16MP selfie camera to take pictures.
The main camera on the back of the phone is also equipped with a 64MP sensor and uses OIS. Next to the main camera is a UV camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel macro sensor.
It is likely that this phone will be presented in the month of May and will be launched in the market. It should also be cheaper than the Xiaomi flagship 12 series.
