Former baseball player Yang Jun-hyuk is showcasing a different side of himself these days, trading the diamond for a fish farm and television appearances.
On the January 23rd broadcast of the KBS2 entertainment show ‘New Release Edition Restaurant,’ viewers saw Yang Jun-hyuk hosting Jang Min-ho, Kim Yang, and Kim Yong-pil at his yellowtail fish farm in Pohang. He personally prepared a gourmet meal featuring fresh yellowtail sashimi and a unique citron white kimchi.
During the visit, Yang Jun-hyuk opened up about his relationship with his wife, Park Hyun-seon, who is 19 years his junior. He admitted to initial hesitation due to the age gap, explaining, “My wife was originally a baseball fan of mine,” and adding, “I was cautious because of the age difference, but I expressed my feelings for a long time and ended up getting married.” He paused, visibly moved, and simply stated, “I live with him now.”

A particularly touching moment occurred when Park Hyun-seon entered with their 11-month-old daughter. Yang Jun-hyuk immediately rose and offered her a seat, saying, “Ma’am, please sit down.” Jang Min-ho playfully remarked, “Why do you think you’ve gotten smaller?” to which Yang Jun-hyuk responded with a laugh, “You’re getting smaller naturally.”
This appearance comes after Yang Jun-hyuk faced criticism for comments made about his wife on a previous program. Viewers had expressed concern over remarks that appeared to downplay her contributions to housework and childcare, as well as discussions surrounding spending.
The broadcast on January 23rd highlighted a clear shift in Yang Jun-hyuk’s demeanor, emphasizing his respect for his wife and his dedication to family life. He married Park Hyun-seon in 2021 and welcomed their daughter last year. Currently, he balances running the yellowtail fish farm with his broadcasting commitments.
