Yatenga/Return of peace to Burkina Faso: Women implore the almighty
Ouahigouya, October 16, 2023 (AIB) – The Union of Islamic Women of Burkina, Yatenga section, organized on Thursday October 12, 2023 in Ouahigouya, a day of fasting and prayer for the return of peace to Burkina Faso.
It is said in the Holy Quran that “when you are hot, present your problems, I will solve them. When you walk towards me, I will run towards you”, this verse, the women of the province of Yatenga implemented it on October 12, 2023.
Old people, women, young people and adolescents, with the Koran in hand, fasted and prayed for the return of peace to Ouahigouya and throughout the country.
“Everywhere in our country, we are experiencing a situation of insecurity and the displacement of populations. The town of Ouahigouya is full of internally displaced people. Faced with this situation, we women came together in fasting and prayer to implore God’s mercy for the return of peace to our families. Because the woman is the main actress in the family. It must establish peace in the family, in the neighborhood, in the city and in the country,” underlined the president of the organizing committee of the day of prayer, Fatimata Guiro. According to her, at the end of the prayer, all women are asked to adopt exemplary behavior in their respective families.
“It is about knowing how to live with others regardless of their religion, placing love at the center of our life, cultivating peace and fraternity around us so that peace returns,” she hoped.
This day of prayer was held simultaneously in Mali and Niger with the union of Islamic women of these countries.
