/ The Israeli writer for the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Nadav Eyal, confirmed that South Africa had submitted to the International Court of Justice an elaborate, organized file full of facts and quotations against Israel.

Nadav Eyal said in his article in the newspaper’s columns: “There is no point in denying this. It was a harsh day for the State of Israel in The Hague. One of the harshest days, diplomatically, since the outbreak of the war.”

He added: “There is no point in denying this either: in a certain sense, Israel has already lost in this situation, as soon as it began, even if Aharon Barak (Israel’s representative at the International Court of Justice) succeeded in convincing the rest of the judges not to issue a temporary order.”

He continued, saying: “The damage occurred as soon as the discussion and international attention took place, and as soon as the question being discussed by the international media now is whether Israel committed ‘Ginocide’ or not.”

It is worth noting that the International Court of Justice in The Hague concluded on Thursday the first hearing in a complaint submitted by the Republic of South Africa accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Until the case is decided, South Africa asked the court, the highest judicial body in the United Nations, to issue an urgent temporary order to Israel to immediately suspend its military operations in Gaza.

The war in the Gaza Strip has entered its 98th day, as military operations and clashes continue on various fronts.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the number of victims and injured in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing had risen to 23,708 dead and 60,005 injured since October 7 of last year.

For its part, the Israeli army announced in the latest statistics published on its official website that 520 officers and soldiers had been killed since October 7, 2023.

In parallel, the American-British attack launched by the two countries on the Houthis in Yemen threatens to expand the circle of war in the region.
