The date for the meeting was confirmed a week after President Yoon called Representative Lee and made the proposal on the 19th, after the ruling party suffered a crushing defeat in the April 10 general elections. After two working-level meetings were difficult, the meeting quickly gained momentum when Representative Lee said, “I will put everything aside and meet President Yoon first.”
