Berlin Good pay and great career opportunities: Despite the high workload, the consulting industry is considered attractive by many. Anyone who decides to become a consultant will gain deep insights into large companies.
And the chances of getting started are good because the consulting industry is booming. According to the Federal Association of German Management Consultancies (BDU), the companies’ sales in 2022 were 43.7 billion euros – an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year. Around 220,000 employees work in management consultancies in Germany, most of them as consultants.
The job is also financially worthwhile. According to BDU information, a partner earns an average of 153,000 euros plus bonus payments and additional benefits. And according to industry experts, the top consultancies have even more to offer. But how do you become a consultant? What qualifications are required?
