Thiruvananthapuram: A young dentist from Tamil Nadu died while bathing at Varkala Odayam beach in Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Vignesh, 24, of Palladam, Coimbatore. Balasivaram (23), a friend who was with him, is in critical condition. He was admitted to a private hospital in Varkala.
The five-member team arrived in Varkala on Saturday for a picnic. On Sunday at 4 pm, the parish went for a swim at Odayam beach. After bathing, Ajay and Balasivaraman went back to the sea to bathe. In the meanwhile, he was caught in the wave. The locals rescued the two and rushed them to the hospital but Ajay died.
