# New Generation of Theater Artists Honored with Awards and Fellowships
A surge of recognition for emerging and established theatre professionals signals a vibrant future for the American stage, with announcements ranging from new members of Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Youngblood collective too major awards for Indigenous storytelling and promising directors.
Ensemble Studio Theatre’s (EST) Youngblood, an OBIE-winning collective dedicated to nurturing emerging playwrights, has unveiled its cohort for the 2025-26 season. Now in its 32nd year, Youngblood provides a crucial creative home for the next generation, offering artistic guidance, peer support, and a space for playwrights to hone their craft. The incoming group includes Davis Alianiello, a multi-hyphenate artist from Providence, Rhode Island; Messiah Cristine, a recent Yale School of Drama graduate; Avery Deutsch, a playwright and actor from Katonah, New York; Xiaoyan Kang, a Chinese immigrant playwright working in the United States; Carolyn Kettig, a New York-based actor, writer, and community artist; Gloria Majule, a Tanzanian storyteller focused on African narratives; Max Mooney, a Brooklyn-based queer writer
