Ponmalai police received a tip that cannabis was being sold in the Ganesapuram area in Ponmalai, Trichy. Based on this, the police patrolled the area and arrested a person selling cannabis near the Ganesapuram public toilet. It was revealed that he was Sarath (age 24) of Soni, 2nd Street, Ganesapuram. Police confiscated 1kg and 100g of cannabis from him, charged him, arrested him and took him to jail.
