London: Russia’s pro-government media outlets Russia Today (RT) and Sputnik have been banned from YouTube in Europe. News channels related to these media are not available on YouTube anywhere in Europe. Facebook model company Meta had already imposed the ban. Twitter also announced that it would ‘label’ tweets from pro-Russian media outlets and restrict news content.

Russia in control of Twitter

Moscow: The Russian government has tightened controls on Twitter, accusing it of spreading fake news. Desktop computers and Twitter have been slowed down. Russia’s news agency has already imposed Twitter controls on mobile devices. The agency said it had received 1,700 requests from Twitter to remove more than 800 controversial posts.
