Video service YouTube opened access for Premium subscribers to the Playables game service. Now users of the web version and mobile devices will be able to play games without installing them on the device.
The function is currently available as part of testing, which will last until March 28, 2024. After this, Playables plans to launch on a permanent basis. To participate in testing, you must pass the YouTube selection and have a YouTube Premium subscription. A total of 37 games are available on the service, including Angry Birds: Showdown, Daily Solitaire, Basketball FRVR and others. YouTube decided to first give access to those games that are easy to share with friends.
Previously, YouTube began adding a special “For You” section to channel pages, in which videos recommended to the user will be shown. The video service also began testing the function of displaying random videos: not full-fledged videos, but short Shorts videos, which YouTube copied from TikTok, will be shown.
