Jatiya Party Supports Interim Government, Outlines Reforms

The⁢ Secretary‌ General of the Jatiya Party, Mujibul Haque ‍Chunnu, expressed full support for the interim government. He urged them to ​hold elections after completing necessary reforms.

Chunnu ‍highlighted several key areas for attention:

Restoring ⁣law ‌and order: He emphasized the need to address public‌ safety⁢ concerns and compensate families of those martyred during the ​movement. Additionally, he called for accountability for police station robberies and killings.
Economic recovery: He stressed the importance of boosting remittance flows,⁢ prioritizing export trade, attracting foreign⁢ investment, and supporting freelancers.
Institutional reforms: He proposed reforms to the election system, including proportional representation ⁤and increased autonomy for institutions like the Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, ​and Public Service Commission.
Judiciary reform: He advocated for a complete separation ⁣of the Judiciary and the appointment of‍ judges to the High Courts.
* Power balance: He‍ argued for reducing‍ the ‍Prime Minister’s‍ unchecked power and establishing a ‌balance of power between the President and Parliament.
