Volodymyr Zelensky issued a statement to mark the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Zion on Friday, telling people to “show determination when it comes to saving those whom hatred seeks to destroy.” President Zelensky also said: “Never again to indifference. The more nations of the world overcome indifference, the less room there will be in the world for hatred.”
Volodymyr Zelensky published a message to commemorate the Holocaust Remembrance Day that was observed last Friday at the killing ravine in Babi Yar, telling people: “Show determination when it comes to saving those whom hatred seeks to destroy.” The President of Ukraine paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust by laying a wreath at the memorial site. He then issued a message saying:
“Today, as always, Ukraine honors the memory of the millions of victims of the Holocaust. We know and remember that indifference kills together with hatred. Indifference and hatred are always capable of creating evil only together. That is why it is so important that everyone who values life shows determination when it comes to saving those whom hatred seeks destroy”.
He also said: “Today we remember the followers of the nations of the world, different people in different countries who were equally determined to save lives, today we remember the determination of the global coalition that stopped Nazism, and today we repeat it more strongly than before: never again to hate; never again No more indifference. The more nations of the world overcome indifference, the less room there will be in the world for hatred.”
Meanwhile, the Jewish communities in Ukraine are preparing for the holidays of Purim and Passover. Last Friday, a message was issued by the Chabad rescue center in Ukraine, JRNU, to all community rabbis and Chabad representatives in the country, about the preparation for sending huge shipments, including fancy matzoh, grape juice, meat and poultry, and a variety of Passover products. The food shipments will be distributed to many Jews of the country through the rabbis and a large array of volunteers.
