“CertiAmoriNonFinano”: this is the hashtag with which the Rossoneri club anticipated the (probable) fourth experience of the 74-year-old Bohemian on the Zaccheria bench

FOGGIA – A photo that immediately inflamed the square and made Italy talk about football. Yesterday afternoon Foggia published on its social channels and on the official website a photo of the technician Zdenek Zeman next to the current president Maria Assunta Pintus and the now next president Nicola Canonico (who last Friday presented himself to the city in a press conference) . As a caption of the photo a simple sentence: “See you in Foggia!”.

The reference to the Roman singer-songwriter

The same image is also accompanied on social networks by the hashtag #CertiAmoriNonFinano. A post, the one dedicated to the Prague technician, which takes its cue from a famous song by Antonello Venditti thirty years ago and which obviously aroused an avalanche of comments, sharing and reactions. The rumors of a return of Zeman and of the sporting director Peppino Pavone, one of the architects of the Zemanlandia phenomenon that amazed Italy in the early nineties, had been chasing each other for a few days among the fans. The photo seems to testify to a contact between the parties but in fact there was no official announcement.

The new landing

Should the coach from Prague return to Zaccheria it would be the fourth landing on the Rossoneri bench. The first, in fact, dates back to 1986-1987 (Series C1), at the dawn of the Casillo presidency. Only one season to then return again in 1989-1990, after the promotion of the Rossoneri to Serie B, to open a wonderful cycle: five seasons, a promotion to Serie A (in 1990-1991) and qualification for the Uefa Cup (parent of the current Europa League) touched in 1994. All in the name of offensive football and 4-3-3. The third, and at least for the last moment, return took place in 2010-2011 (Serie C1), with the return to the presidency of Casillo and Pavone to the club’s sporting direction, for a single season that saw the birth, among others, of the star of Lorenzo Insigne, today protagonist with Italy of CT Mancini at the European Championships. Insigne joins the long line of champions who grew up in the Rossoneri under Zeman. Among these the trident Baiano, Rambaudi, Signori, the Dutch Roy, the Russians Shalimov and Kolyvanov, as well as Petrescu, Di Biagio, Seno, Chamot and many others. Some of these champions, together with the protagonists of other eras, will be at Zaccheria on 25 June for the “A Century of Stars-Foggia Legends” event, linked to the club’s centenary (on 12 May 2020).
