Just a day after his premiere, Markos Seferlis had already gathered a plethora of reactions. In response to his critics, he invoked the “scientific opinion of psychiatrist Souras”, as he emphasized, who attended the show.
Dimitris Souras by his side: There are two genders, shouted in the theater
The psychiatrist sat in the front row until Markos Seferlis came down from the stage, and he got up to put his arm around the actor. “I can accept all things, sexual desires are acceptable, things change, everything evolves,” says Dimitris Souras to the audience, before shouting that “there are two genders, male and female,” repeating the phrase over and over. Markos Seferlis’s audience applauded him.

“Don’t expect everyone to respect your opinion”
In a video response, Markos Seferlis asked his critics not to expect only their opinion to be accepted.
He specifically emphasized: “This video is addressed to all those who once again use my name to be heard, to sell a book or whatever. The only thing they manage to do is advertise me, which I don’t need but I thank them for it.
In the video, you will see what psychiatrist Dimitris Souras said at the end of my show regarding the topic of non-binary, not me. If you want to hear what I say and how I say it, you can come see me in the show and then judge me. The important thing in the video is the spontaneous reaction of the audience and the comments on Mr. Souras’s statements. And finally, all of you, respect the opinions of other people.
Don’t expect everyone to respect your opinion. This is called bullying, in case you didn’t know. And finally, understand what the difference is between mockery and satire. But what am I telling you now, these are fine details. Kisses.”
How the audience reacted to the show
Part of the show includes Markos Seferlis disguising himself as Nemo, the non-binary individual who won Eurovision 2024. From the premiere onwards, excerpts from Markos Seferlis’s performance began to circulate on social media, and many targeted him for mocking the singer. After the videos from his sketch circulated, it was written on Twitter – X that the comedian was not only satirizing Nemo but generally targeting individuals who identify as non-binary.
One of the messages against him read: “When Seferlis fills the theater making fun, don’t be surprised by incidents of violence. Don’t be surprised by homophobia. Don’t be surprised by the joke about the ‘f*g’. About the ‘figs’. About the ‘sister’ out there. We are worthy of our miserable fate.”

Someone else insisted that “what he does is ridicule gender identity and sexual orientation”.
On the other hand, there were also comments that supported Markos Seferlis, emphasizing that it is something he has been doing for many years and “if someone doesn’t like it, they shouldn’t watch it.” They also pointed out that “yes, Seferlis is to blame”.
