There are people who have never been to Mongolia, but no one has come only once! It is said that the peak season for travel to Mongolia is summer, but if you want to feel its deep charm, fall is the real time.

For nomads who move their homes every season, the fall moving season is an important time that can determine life or death. Even in the arduous journey of life, there is consideration and kindness for others.

Fall is here! Immerse yourself in the friendly sensibility of Mongolia.

These days, as summer transitions into fall, the sight of hundreds of herds of livestock moving around outside the car window is the highlight of a trip to Mongolia. Finally, we meet a nomad on the move, are treated to warm tea, and head to Mount Turgen, a hidden attraction in Ops.

Even in Mongolia’s rugged mountainous western region of Ops, Mount Turgen, covered in permanent snow, is not yet well-known, so a local nomad decided to provide a guide. Stay overnight at the guide’s house and climb Mount Turgen (Түргэний уулс) the next day. At 4,029m above sea level, you can see glaciers 365 days a year, and as you enter the entrance of Mount Turgeg, which is called the twin mountain of Harhira Mountain right next to it, a jade-colored lake as bright as paint unfolds.

After a difficult hike up the rocky mountain, we finally arrived at our destination. Underneath the majestic glacier, the lake unfolds in different colors depending on the sunlight.

The next journey is to the small village of Ops, Hop-d-Som (Ховд сум). The Ops region has been famous as a place where many strong merchants have been produced since ancient times, and in particular, it is a place where many athletes of ‘Buch’, Mongolia’s traditional wrestling, are produced. Mr. Byam Bassogt, who is scheduled to retire this year and has 35 years of experience in Buch, is a talented person who has won the Hob de Somme seven times. It turns out that they belong to a Buch family that has been playing Buch for generations, and Biam’s son is also a Buch player, following in his father’s footsteps.

Mr. Byam will retire after the Buch match held at the Hop-d-Somme Naadam Festival (Ховд сумын наадам) commemorating the 100th anniversary of Hop-de-Somme. Noh’s last game played in front of his family! What is the result of the game?
