At the auction on Monday, February 14, the Russian concern Gazprom did not book capacity for gas transit through Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline and additional transit capacities through Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data of the RBP and GSA Platform platforms.

“The operator of the gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine” offered to book a total of 15 million cubic meters of gas per day at two gas metering stations, but they remained unclaimed. At the same time, Gazprom has a long-term reservation of Ukrainian capacities in the amount of 40 billion cubic meters – this is 109 million cubic meters per day. But in January, the concern used only half of these capacities (54 million cubic meters per day), and in the first two weeks of February it pumps an average of 77 million cubic meters, the Interfax agency writes.

On the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, volumes of 89.1 million cubic meters of gas per day were offered, they also remained unclaimed. For January, Gazprom booked a capacity of 19.3 million cubic meters per day, but did not use them. The concern also did not make a monthly reservation for February, buying out capacities as needed at daily auctions.

Gas supplies to Europe

The Yamal-Europe gas pipeline with a length of more than 2,000 km runs from Russia through Belarus and Poland to Germany. The throughput capacity of the pipeline is 33 billion cubic meters per year. The Polish company EuRoPol Gaz owns the 683 km section of the gas pipeline, and the section is operated by Gaz-System.
