The council president of AltamiranoChiapas, María García López, as well as three other people were retained for A group of peopleon a stretch of road in the municipality of Ocosingo.
According to the first reports, the events occurred on the morning of this Thursday, April 25, outside a restaurant on the stretch of road from Ocosingo to San Cristóbal de Las Casas.

At the scene, authorities from the State Prosecutor’s Office located a shell casing and the cell phone equipment of one of the victims.
María García López was with the municipal treasurer of Altamirano, Juan Manuel Montaño, another person identified as Adolfo “N” and one more person, whose identity is unknown at this time.
After what happened, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Chiapas, through the Indigenous Justice Prosecutor’s Office, initiated the corresponding investigations against whoever or those who are responsible for the deprivation of liberty of the four people, under the crime of Retention of Individuals.

The Indigenous Justice Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out the corresponding procedures to find the whereabouts of the victims, as well as the origin of the events.
Meanwhile, the investigation will be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office Against Enforced Disappearance and Commitment by Private Persons and the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor’s Office.
