‘Seonyu-do is famous, a cute genius dog’. Seonyudo Island in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do has beautiful scenery as its name suggests, ‘an island where fresh creatures roam.’

There was a famous ‘genius dog’ that no one on this island knew about…

Who says it’s not a dog that lives on an island? The main character is 5-year-old ‘Cutie’, who not only catches sea cucumbers hidden in coastal cliffs, but also runs errands with a basket in his mouth.

Five years ago, Nam Jeong-su, a grandfather, adopted a cutie directly from an abandoned dog center for his grandson, who was lonely and without friends on an island where children were rare. But contrary to that wish, Gwiyomi became her grandfather’s best friend.

Mr. Jeong Su, a grandfather who wants to make friends with his grandchild again. Will his wish come true?

‘My dream is to become Jeonbuk’s first lifesaving dog?’ Baek Gwang-il, rescue captain of Wanju Fire Station in Jeollabuk-do.

Even today, he is training hard at home and in the mountains to make his dog ‘Mud’ the best rescue dog.

Rescue dogs are desperately needed to search for missing people, but the reality is that there are no rescue dogs operating in the Jeonbuk region.

With the belief that if there isn’t one, I will create it myself, I completed professional training in 2017 and qualified as a trainer, and in 2021, I adopted and am training a Malinois named ‘Mud’.

Baek Gwang-il and his dog ‘Mud’ are struggling to make their dream come true by moving from an apartment to a house with a yard for Mud and even changing a vehicle that can carry a large cage. Let’s take a look at their training full of hope.

EBS’ ‘Korea Travel’, a space travel in search of Korea’s hidden scenery and a beautiful time travel documentary program that allows you to feel and convey the scent of history, customs, architecture, and culture, is broadcast every Monday to Friday at 9:30 PM.
