The funeral procession of the late British Queen Elizabeth has begun. Around 10 lakh people have gathered in London to pay their last respects to the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth’s body is taken from Westminster to Westminster Abbey for burial. In this funeral procession, the body of the queen is followed by the royal family.

She will then be taken to Windsor and buried next to her husband Prince Philip’s body.

Queen Elizabeth’s scepter and crown rest atop her coffin. About 500 leaders from around the world have come to London to attend the Queen’s funeral and pay their last respects.

Queen Elizabeth (96) passed away on the 8th due to poor health. His body has been in state in London since last Wednesday in the Westminster Hall of Parliament. For the past five days, lakhs of people had been waiting in long queues for around 17 hours in extreme cold to pay their respects to the body of the queen. Eight of the Queen’s grandchildren came near the casket where her body was kept.

A moment of silence was observed across Britain on Sunday for the Queen’s death. A government holiday has been declared on Monday, when the funeral will take place. Funerals are broadcast live on television and on large screens in public places. All police officers across the country have been advised to report for duty on Monday.

In a video message released by Camilla, the wife of the new King Charles, ‘Queen Elizabeth has acted with distinction in a world dominated by men. I will always remember his smile.’

US President Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden, Indian President Draupadi Murmu and 500 world leaders have visited London to attend the Queen’s funeral.

It is expected that 10 lakh people will attend the funeral. Around 250 additional trains were run to London from across the country. Around 100 inbound and outbound flights from Heathrow Airport have been canceled to prevent noise disturbances during the funeral.
