Ontario Mom Loses 94 Pounds, Reclaims Life Without Ozempic or Wegovy
A Canadian mother of two has become a beacon of hope for those struggling with weight loss, demonstrating remarkable transformation through enduring lifestyle changes-without relying on popular GLP-1 medications.
Tina Bogart, a stay-at-home mother from Ontario, Canada, reached a turning point last year when she told herself, “I was too far gone. There was no point trying.”
For years,Bogart concealed her struggles while caring for her daughter,Paisley, five, and son,Bodyn, two. Her daily intake reached a staggering 4,300 calories, consisting of items like bagels with cream cheese and jam, footlong sandwiches, sugary cereal, fried foods, and nightly snacks of chips, beer, and liquor. “I knew I was gaining weight, but I didn’t realize how much until I tracked it.I was disgusted with myself,” she admitted. The approaching holiday season, traditionally a source of anxiety, prompted her to finaly attempt change.
Though, BogartS journey didn’t begin with a drastic overhaul. Instead, she committed to a single, achievable goal: a 20-minute walk each morning. “Not a diet, not a crazy workout plan – just something I coudl follow through on,” she explained. This small step paved the way for accumulating healthy habits over time. Within two weeks, daily walks were complemented by protein-rich meals.
This combination of increased physical activity and improved nutrition led to significant weight loss, achieved entirely without the use of drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy. Bogart emphasizes the importance of discipline, stating, “Discipline doesn’t come when you feel motivated, it comes on the days you don’t want to do it. There has never been a walk I regretted. Not once.”
The holidays, historically a period of fear due to the temptation of food, remained a challenge. Bogart acknowledged her initial fear that losing weight would diminish her primary source of joy. Her path wasn’t without setbacks, including moments of binge eating and tears, but she consistently practiced self-forgiveness and renewed her commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
Bogart now prioritizes strategies for navigating the holidays, including daily walks (even short ones), drinking water before meals, incorporating protein into every meal, avoiding tempting snacks, and practicing immediate self-forgiveness for minor slips. These principles have proven effective not only for herself but also for her growing clientele.
She has as launched a coaching business specifically designed for busy mothers navigating the challenges of weight loss, especially during the most tempting times of the year. “You do everything for everyone else – your kids, your partner – and forget about you,” she said. “You deserve to feel confident again.” Bogart’s approach, dubbed the “MILF Method” – an acronym for move daily, intentional eating, lifestyle habits, and feel confident – focuses on building self-esteem and strength rather than restrictive dieting. “It’s not about extremes or restriction, it’s about building confidence, strength & loving yourself again,” she shared on social media.
Today, Bogart’s kitchen reflects her transformation, stocked with chicken breasts, vegetables, cured meat sticks, Greek yogurt with fruit, rotisserie chicken, and sugar-free cranberry ginger ale-a stark contrast to her previous diet. She has lost 94 pounds in approximately 18 months, a feat she once believed impossible. “My old self would never believe this is me,” she said.
Her success story has resonated with many women seeking to overcome cravings and manage their appetite without prescription medication. While GLP-1 agonists can be effective, roughly 13 percent of the 31 million people using them discontinue due to distressing side effects, ranging from nausea and diarrhea to more severe complications like stomach perforations, gallbladder disease, and kidney injury.bogart’s journey demonstrates that medication isn’t the only path to sustainable weight loss.
For those struggling, Bogart offers simple advice: “Life will always be busy, and temptations will always exist. Start now. Go for a 20-minute walk today. Just one thing. That’s enough.”
