The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has awarded 13.5 million euros to 26 fleet renewal and electrification projects in the final resolution of the third call of the program Moves Fleetsas reported by the Department in a statement this Monday.

The selected files include the acquisition of 6,268 new light electric vehicles – from mopeds to vans – and the installation of 1,333 new charging points to serve these fleets, as detailed by Europa Press.

The program, financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, seeks to promote the electrification of fleets of light vehicles that operate in various communities.

In this sense, the program managed by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (Idae), dependent on the Ministry headed by the minister Teresa Riberacounts among its beneficiaries national companies and public entities with a large number of vehicles in their corporate parks.

Some of these have accessed this program in several calls, achieving an important renewal of their fleet, explains the Ministry. Companies with a lower number of vehicles per fleet have also participated in this edition, as the minimum limit per application has been lowered from 25 to 10 in the last modification.

Therefore, it is an essential condition that the company that owns the fleet that requests help operates in at least two autonomous communities; Thus, in this call, aid has been awarded for fleets present in 17 communities.

In total, after the three calls resolved by the Moves Fleets program, the allocated funds total more than 38 million euros for the renewal of more than 22,900 light vehicles and their respective charging points.

Milestones of the recovery plan and the PNIEC

The Ministry points out that this aid will contribute to achieving the milestones set in the ‘Shock Plan for sustainable, safe and connected mobility in urban and metropolitan environments’, which constitutes Component 1 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, in line with the objectives set in the draft update of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) and the National Air Pollution Control Program.

In this sense, the Moves Fleets program complements the rest of the calls of the Moves ecosystem, formed by the Moves III program – managed by the CC.AA – of aid for the acquisition of hybrid or electric vehicles and the installation of charging points , and the Moves Singulares line for innovative electric mobility projects.

Ecological Transition states that the promotion of electric mobility is one of the clean mobility intervention lines within the framework of the Recovery Plan, which has actions led by this Ministry and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.

Both departments are working to promote modal change and implement low-emission zones in municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, in accordance with the Climate Change and Energy Transition Law, he concludes.
