Kyiv: Ukraine has lost 13000 soldiers’ lives in the Russian attack so far. The figures were revealed by Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The United States had previously revealed that about ten thousand Ukrainian soldiers had been killed. But this is the first time that Ukraine has confirmed this.

Senior US General Mark Milley said last month that nearly 100,000 Russian and 100,000 Ukrainian troops have been killed or wounded since the war began. EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen mentioned in a video speech on Wednesday that 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed. However, a spokesperson for the European Union Commission later clarified that this was a mistake. The explanation was that this figure includes those killed and injured.

But this is what Podoliak said while talking to a TV channel. Speaking of the death toll, we have official figures. According to the figures received by the General Staff and Commander in Chief Zelensky, over 10,000 or 12,500-13,000 people were killed. Podoliak estimated that 100,000 Russian soldiers died and 150,000 were wounded. A large number of civilians have also been killed in Ukraine, he added.

European Union Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said 20,000 civilians had been killed in Ukraine. This figure has not been revised by the European Union. But the video was withdrawn by the European Union along with earlier revised figures.
