18-year-old Woman Gang-Raped in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi Linked to Instagram: Two Arrested

New Delhi: An 18-year-old woman from Madangir, South Delhi, was gang-raped by youths who met her through Instagram. The girl was brutally raped in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. Two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

On January 29, the girl reached an area in Madangir at around 1 pm on the instructions of the youth she met on Instagram. When the girl reached there, the two youths were waiting in a two-wheeler. The girl was asked to get into the vehicle but refused. The accused then threatened the girl and put her in the vehicle and took her to Malavinagar.

They bought food for the girl after taking her to a deserted area in Malavinagar. The girl became unconscious after consuming drug-laced food. Then both of them sexually assaulted the girl. Both the accused were arrested by the police during a raid in Meerut on Thursday night.

Deputy Commissioner Ankit Chauhan said that two youths aged between twenty and nineteen were arrested. He said that the girl had lodged a complaint with the police on January 29 and further investigation related to the case was in progress.
