Some 2,578 regulatory violations on the prices and quality of food products were recorded from 1 to 26 Ramadan 1444, following operations carried out by the joint control commissions chaired by the walis and governors, according to the Competition Department , prices and compensation under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Among these offenses, 528 were the subject of warnings to offenders, while 2,050 reports were drawn up and transmitted to the competent courts, specifies the Management in a press release on the fourth meeting during the month of Ramadan, of the Commission meeting responsible for monitoring supply, prices and control operations, held on Tuesday.
All the operations led to the control of 48,537 points of sale at the national level, leading to the seizure and destruction of 44.2 tonnes of products unfit for consumption or not complying with the regulatory standards in force.
This meeting was chaired by the Directorate of Competition, Prices and Compensation, in the presence of representatives of the ministerial departments in charge of the Interior, Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, Industry and Trade , Energy and Mines, and the public establishments concerned.
