2nd League: Hansa’s danger of relegation increases after 1:2 against KSC

by time news

Rostock – Hansa Rostock has missed a breakthrough and is still deep in the relegation zone of the 2nd Bundesliga.

Despite taking the lead, the Mecklenburgers still lost 1:2 (1:0) against Karlsruher SC and remained in second-to-last place in the table. After the seventh game without a defeat, the KSC remains in fifth place.

Nico Neidhardt (33rd minute) had deservedly put the Rostock team in front with a nice long-range shot. After the change, the guests turned the game around with a double strike from Budu Zivzivadze (52′) and Marvin Wanitzek (56′). Hansa was unlucky when Dennis Dressel shot at the post (58′).

In front of 25,000 spectators, Rostock were the better team in the first half and hardly allowed the favorites KSC to develop. Zivzivadze’s early goal (9th) for Karlsruhe was canceled after a VAR decision.

Otherwise, Hansa was the dominant team against the passive Baden team. After the change, the Karlsruhe team pulled themselves together again. After the KSC lead, the Rostock team couldn’t think of much; they were too harmless on the offensive for a long time. It was only in the final phase that they had good chances again, but ultimately without success.
