Overall sales of new cars in Morocco stood at 36,816 units at the end of March, down 11.07% compared to the same period in 2022, according to monthly statistics from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM). ).

By segment, reports MAP, the number of new registrations of passenger vehicles (VP) recorded a drop of 8.71%, with 33,757 units sold at the end of March 2022, while that of light commercial vehicles (LCV) posted a down 30.82%, with 3,059 units sold, says AIVAM.

The Dacia brand dominates the passenger car segment, with a market share of 24.53%, i.e. 3,060 units sold at the end of March 2023, followed by Renault, which sold 1,879 units (15.06% market share), and Hyundai. (1,530 units and 12.26% market share), specifies the same source.

In the LCV segment, Renault sold 229 units (20.02% market share), ahead of DFSK which sold 224 vehicles (19.58% market share) and Hyundai with 168 units (14.69 % market share).

On the premium side, BMW sold 358 units, representing a market share of 2.87%, ahead of Audi (350 units and a market share of 2.81%, and Mercedes (274 units and a market share of 2.20%) .
For its part, Porsche sold 64 units, with a market share of 0.51%, while Jaguar sales reached 11 cars (0.09%).
