4 years, 130 million dollars: New contract for Hero

by time news

After a great season, Tyler Hero will get what he wants, and in a big way. The Miami Heat guard agreed on a new contract with Erik Spoelstra’s team, with which he is expected to sign a new contract for the next four years during which he will be paid 130 million dollars, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski tonight (between Sunday and Monday).

Hero, as you will remember, was selected as the sixth player of the season last year, after he averaged 20.7 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the regular season. By the way, he recorded these numbers when he came off the bench in 56 of his 66 games in the regular season, which made him the fifth player ever to average 20+ points off the bench. In addition, Hero scored 30+ points in eight games in which he came off the bench – the third highest figure in history.

Hero was selected by the Heat with the 13th pick in the 2019 draft, and in his first season he was named to the second five rookies of the NBA after scoring 13.5 points and adding 4.1 rebounds when he stopped with his team only in the final series against the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, however, after three seasons in Florida, Hero will be ready for another year with a new and rather prestigious contract.
