Chennai: Vande Bharat train is expected to reach Mysore from Chennai at a speed of 75 kmph in 6 hours 40 minutes.
In 2019, the Ministry of Railways introduced the indigenously manufactured modern high-speed trains named Vande Bharat Express. In this train, the engine is not alone but is coupled with the train. The train has many modern facilities like automatic doors, AC, Wi-Fi, GPS, audio, video information facilities, bio-toilets. These types of coaches were manufactured at the ICF factory in Chennai.
Its 1st service is running on Delhi – Varanasi route, 2nd service is on Delhi – Kashmir’s Vaishnavi Devi Temple route, 3rd service is on Mumbai – Gandhi Nagar route and 4th service is on Amb Andavra, Himachal Pradesh – New Delhi route. In this case, its 5th service will be launched on the Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore route. The service is expected to be launched on November 10.
In this case, the railway administration has published the timetable of the Vande Bharat train. According to this, the Vande Bharat train reaches Mysuru only 20 minutes earlier than the Shatabdi train.

Shatabdi train takes 7 hours 15 minutes from Chennai to Mysore. Vande Bharat train takes 6 hours 40 minutes from Chennai to Mysore. The Vande Bharat train can run up to 180 kmph. But now it will be operated only at a speed of 75 km per hour.
When Southern Railway officials were asked in this regard, they said that the work of running trains at maximum speed on the route between Chennai – Jolarpet is going on and once the work is completed, the speed is likely to be increased.
